Add a Registered Nurse
Give your delegating RN access to delegation plans, competencies, and supervision visits.
Washington nurse delegation requires a delegating registered nurse — and the RN needs their own account to build delegation plans, sign off caregiver competency, and log supervision visits. Adding one follows the same short flow as any other user; the role is what unlocks the RN portal.
Step by step

Open Manage Users
From the dashboard, click “Manage Users” to open User Management.

Click “Add User”
The “Add New User” form opens.

Enter their work email and a temporary password
The email is their sign-in. Set a temporary password of at least eight characters — they can change it after their first sign-in.

Add their name and phone
This is what appears on the delegation plan and supervision records they sign.

Choose the role — Registered Nurse
This unlocks the RN portal. No licence number is entered here — delegation plans, competency sign-offs, and supervision visits all live in the RN portal itself.

Create the user
Click “Create User.” They appear with a Registered Nurse badge, and the Registered Nurses counter goes up.
Why it matters
- Nurse delegation under WAC 246-840-930 depends on a named delegating RN — the role is what lets them build and sign the delegated plan.
- Competency sign-offs and supervision visits must be attributable to the RN who performed them, not to a shared admin account.
- The RN sees the clinical tools they need without being handed full facility administration.
