File an Incident Report
Document a fall or incident with injuries, vitals, and notifications in one form.
When something happens, documentation has to be thorough and timely. VentoFlo’s incident report captures the resident, type, time, and location, plus injuries, vital signs, cause, first-aid response, witnesses, and who was notified — in a single guided form, with a clear audit trail from draft to submitted.
Step by step
- 1
Start a new incident report
From the Compliance area, choose “Report Incident.”
- 2
Record the essentials
Select the resident, incident type (fall, altercation, elopement, medication error, and more), the date and time, and where it happened.
- 3
Describe what happened
Write a clear narrative, and add injuries, vital signs, cause, and the first-aid response as needed.
- 4
Capture notifications and submit
Record who was notified — provider, resident manager, physician, family, CRU — then save and submit. The report enters the incident log with its status tracked.
Why it matters
- Incidents must be documented promptly and completely; a thin or late report is itself a compliance problem.
- Capturing notifications (including CRU when required) on the same form proves the right people were told, and when.
- A draft → submitted → reviewed trail gives administrators oversight and an inspection-ready history.
